Fall Tennis Program (1st Grade through 8th Grade)
St. Andrew Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Tennis Registration — Fall 2008 Season
All Students from St. Andrew the Apostle parish in grades 1 to 8 are invited to participate in St. Andrew's CYO Tennis Program. The program is for students registered in the parish religious education program (CCD and home school) and those attending our parochial school. Grades 1 — 3 focus on the fundamental of the game in instructional sessions once a week. Grades 4 — 8 compete with other CYO tennis teams from the diocese. The coordinator this year is Mr. John Lovejoy.
Winter Basketball Program (4th Grade through 8th Grade)
Welcome to St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Basketball! The Northern Virginia Junior CYO (NVJCYO) Basketball program has leagues for male and female teams in grades 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. With the NVJCYO basketball season opening the first weekend in December, our parish is registering players and looking for volunteer coaches now.
In order to be eligible to play in the NVJCYO league, your son(s) and/or daughter(s) must be enrolled and regularly attend the St. Andrew Parish School or the St. Andrew Parish Religious Education program. Parish home-schoolers also qualify with certification from the pastor. The number of parish basketball teams per grade is limited by NVJCYO guidelines and the availability of volunteer coaches.
Practices are held evenings during the week at a nearby Fairfax County school starting in late October. Games are played either Saturday or Sunday in a variety of Arlington Diocese and Fairfax County schools. The games begin the first weekend in December and end in early March, with a 2 week Christmas break.
If you are interested in participating in CYO Basketball, either as a player or a coach, please fill out the St. Andrew Parish registration form and the NVJCYO Participant Agreement form, available for download below. There is a $50 registration fee which will be collected at the first practice; please make checks payable to St. Andrew CYO and write a separate check for each child. Return the completed form via e-mail no later than 16 October 2009 to Craig Eichenlaub at ceichenlaub@ghtltd.com.
