Volunteering

At St. Andrew's, our dedicated parent volunteer community is critical to running many vital school programs. From reading in the classroom and chaperoning class trips, to helping with key fundraisers and staffing special events, we ask every family to contribute in some way. Parents can volunteer to support our students both in school and from home:

• Lunch and Recess duty (3 hours credit)
• Class volunteers - science lab, art class, library, and computer lab (2 hours credit)
• Donate baked goods for special events 
• Lead a Scout Troop or Trail Life
• Coach a CYO Sports team
• Coordinate special events such as the Fun Run, PTO Dinner, Chili Cook-off, Book Fair, etc
• Browse the roster of volunteer opportunities and descriptions.

SignUpGenius
SignUpGenius is an easy way to sign up to volunteer at our school.  There are currently openings for  Art Class,  Science Lab,  Library,  Recess,   Technology, and Robotics Club.  Special event volunteer opportunities will be emailed to all families as they become available.

Volunteer Guidelines
Similar to other schools in our diocese, St Andrew's has a volunteer hour requirement of 40 hours per year for every family.  Families can also pay an opt-out fee, but it's the talent and time from parents that benefit the school the most.  See our  Volunteer Guidelines for more details.  Completing your volunteer hours earns dress-down coupons for your children (highly valued!).  It's also a terrific way to meet other families, understand the workings of the school better, and spend time in your children's classroom.  Parents interested in volunteering as a Room Parent should contact their child's teacher directly.

Contact the Volunteer VPs with any questions, to volunteer for special events and programs, or to report your out-of-school hours.

Volunteer Requirements 
All adults volunteering with students in the classroom or outside the classroom, such as chaperoning a field trip, must be Compliant with the OPCYP policies, Office of Protection of Children and Young People.  The two part process starts with the Online Background Paperwork and followed by attending a Virtus training session.  
Please email Tonya Baker (tbaker@standrew-clifton.org) the School Liaison for the Office of Child and Youth Protection.  She will provide you with the first step to start the process. The process can take several weeks. Do not delay the process or you may not be able to volunteer at the event you are interested in.
